Crafting Quality 22 Years Manufacturing Excellence
Founded in 2004 by Christianto Prabawa, Mebel Internasional began with a clear and ambitious vision: Elevate Indonesian Woodworking to Meet International Standards
We deliberately chose the name “Mebel”, which means furniture in both Dutch and Indonesian, to signal our deep cultural roots alongside our international ambitions from day one
Unlike manufacturers that rely on speculative expansion, our growth trajectory has been deliberately patient and sustainable
Every major facility expansion over the past two decades was executed only after securing validated contracts
Timeline of MI History
2004: The Foundation
We began our operations in a humble 200 m² rented space in Semarang, Central Java, with a dedicated team of just four employees
Initially focusing on cabinet manufacturing for U.S. export markets, we established the core quality standards that would ultimately become our global hallmark
2006: International Validation & Scale
We securing our first major British wholesale contract provided critical international market validation
To meet this demand, we executed our first significant facility expansion, moving to a 2,500 m² space at the Tambak Aji Industrial Park
This era established our capability to produce premium bespoke ranges at scale
2009: Expanding Global Reach
As our reputation for reliable delivery flourished, we successfully entered new, highly competitive markets in South Korea, Japan, the UK, and across Europe
To support this rapid global reach, we acquired adjacent land, expanding our integrated facility to a massive 12,000 m² (featuring 10,000 m² of dedicated workspace
2014: Technological Integration & Hospitality Focus
We secured a major contract from a North American Hospitality Group, producing custom furniture for numerous well-known hotels across North America
We fueled our growth by recruiting a dedicated R&D team and integrating advanced machinery into our workflow, including an Italian CNC Machine with ATC capabilities, Hot Press Veneering, and an Automatic Edging Machine
2020: A Million Milestones Achieved
Our workforce expanded to 300 professionally skilled carpenters, artists, and talented staff members
As we continuously served retail and hospitality clients worldwide, we celebrated a monumental milestone: over 1 million pieces of our beautiful handmade furniture spread throughout the globe
To keep pace with demand, we also invested in a brand new 4-head CNC machine
2022: Diversification & Bespoke
We proudly expanded into a new casket production line, aiming to create opportunities for families to honor their loved ones with tributes of the utmost quality
Crafted using a highly precise German Weinig 6-Head Moulder, these products are now shipped worldwide
