- Yes, and we strongly encourage it. Sampling is a critical step to ensure every detail is aligned before committing to full production
- Sample production takes 3–4 weeks and is billed at 2.5× the standard unit cost, covering R&D, production planning, and dedicated sample maker setup
- This cost is fully credited against your first full production order
We are always open to finding the right number for a long-term partnership. Pricing is influenced by two key variables:
- Target price: If you share your target price per item, our team will review where adjustments are possible without compromising the quality your collection demands
- Order quantity: Our quotes are typically based on 20 pieces per item. Increasing the quantity reduces per-unit overhead and setup costs, giving us meaningful room to improve pricing. The more volume we share, the more competitive we can be
We never cut quality to cut cost. But we will always find the most efficient path to your number when the conditions allow it
We handle everything from one-off designs to multiple hundreds, taking your project from ‘Sign Off’ to the ‘Factory Door’
Our timeframes include material allocation, sample construction, building the furniture, finishing, and packaging
This depends on whether it is a first production run or a repeat order:
- First production run: 12 weeks is required. This covers technical drawing preparation, your approval sign-off, and full production planning and setup for the first batch, steps that cannot be compressed without risking quality or accuracy
- Repeat orders (same pieces): Lead time reduces to 8–10 weeks, as drawings are already approved and production setup is established
We are transparent about this distinction upfront so your project timelines are planned accurately from day one
- Air freight: 3–7 days
- Ocean freight: 4–6 weeks (depending on destination and situation)
- Shipping on time is vital to MI, and we collaborate closely to meet all agreed-upon schedules

- Material selection always follows design intent and end-use performance
- We ask about the item’s final location, climate conditions, indoor vs. outdoor setting, wet vs. dry environment, and any specific handling or fitting requirements
- Once we understand the context, our engineering team reviews the client’s design references and technical drawings to advise on the best material and construction approach, ensuring what is specified is not only aesthetically right, but structurally sound and manufacturable to the standard the project demands
- MI standard specs include: Solid hardwoods on all exposed surfaces, Tongue & Groove (T&G) joinery, glued and doweled joints, gliders, floor levelers, and heat-resistant top surfaces

- We use Boiler + Chamber Kiln Drying with a target Moisture Content (MC) of 8–10%
- Duration: 2–4 weeks depending on timber thickness, thicker timber requires longer drying
- All furniture is conditioned in our dedicated dehumidifier room for post-production furniture to maintain MC below 12% critical during the rainy season when wood naturally absorbs humidity
- Before a container is sealed, MC is locked at 10–12%
- After shipping to low-humidity destinations, the MC stabilizes due to properly dried wood and sound construction
- For paneling specifically, we use a solid wood frame + plywood veneer construction inherently stable and engineered against wood movement
- We have successfully delivered projects to low-humidity environments including a Ski Resort in the Chicago area
